How to enrol in a jewellery course — calendar, sign-up and what happens next
No application season, no portfolio review for foundation courses — a calendar and a one-page form between you and the bench.
Enrolling in a jewellery course in Singapore is a two-step process, not an
application season.
Step 1 — pick the intake on the calendar
The admissions calendar
lists every upcoming class across all families — fashion jewellery, fine
jewellery design, precious metal arts, gemmology, CAD and business. Filter by
family and month; dates shift, so the calendar is the only source to trust.
Step 2 — the one-page sign-up form
The course sign-up form
takes your details and course choice on one page. After submission the
admissions team confirms your seat and sends joining details for the studio at
91 Bencoolen St, #03-01 Sunshine Plaza.
What happens next
- Tools and materials are provided in class — you buy nothing before the
first session. - No prerequisites on foundation courses; beginners are the point.
- Certificates stack: each completed course moves you along the ladder
toward a diploma if you choose to continue.
Not sure which course is right?
Two good moves:
- Take the 2-minute course finder —
a personal recommendation, free. - Or taste the craft first with a one-day
experience class,
and read the diploma comparison to see which
family matches how you like to work.
Questions people actually ask
How do I check when the next jewellery course starts?
All upcoming intakes are listed on the JDMIS admissions calendar at jdmis.edu.sg/admissions/calendar.html — the live source of truth for every course family.
Do I need an interview or portfolio to enrol?
No. Foundation certificate courses and experience classes are open to absolute beginners. Advanced programmes publish their own requirements on their pages.
Can I take more than one course family?
Yes — courses are modular. Many students pair a making course with a knowledge course such as gemmology. The admissions team can advise on pacing.
What should I bring on the first day?
Nothing. Tools and materials are provided in class; the studio has everything from task lamps to torches.
